About the competitions

The international art competition "Time Travel" has been held annually since 2015 by theBrest Regional Public Association "Volunteer Firefighters".

The founder of the competition, in accordance with the charter, has no commercial interests.

Registration

Registration is completed

Registration of competitive works is completed, proceeded to the next stages of the competition.

Order of conduct

The competition accepts works of children and adults (not professional artists) in the following age groups:
  • preschoolers (4-6 years old)
  • elementary school students (6-9 years old)
  • middle school students (10-13 years old)
  • senior pupils and students (14-17 years old)
  • adults (18+ years)


Each participant can submit 1 work for each category of the contest theme.

The competition consists of 5 stages, which are listed below.

Creative depiction of the history of fire fighting in the past, present and future (extinguishing fires, saving people and buildings, eliminating the consequences of environmental disasters, developing technology, culture, sports, etc.)

Stages of competition

The competition consists of the following main stages:

Stage 1 - until March 01, 2023

Registration of participants on the competition website and acceptance of competitive works

  • do-it-yourself work
  • production of digital representations of the work independently or with the help of a representative and posting it in the Internet
  • registration on the competition website independently or with the help of a representative with indicating links to digital representations of works available on the Internet

Stage 2 - from March 02, 2023 to March 12, 2023

Preliminary check of works for compliance with the conditions and requirements of the competition

  • verification of works for compliance with the criteria of the competition
  • participants who have passed the verification will receive a notification of participation in the competition by e-mail
  • works that have not been verificated will not be reviewed and no responses will be sent

Stage 3 - from March 15, 2023 to April 05, 2023

The work of the jury and the determination of the winners of the competition

  • the members of the jury are determined by the founder of the competition
  • only professional artists can be the members of the jury
  • jury works online

Stage 4 - 01 May 2023

Publication on the website of the competition and on the website of the founder of the competition of works of winners

  • works of winners (I-III places) in each age group are published
  • only 1 file, which most reflects the work of the winner, can be publicated, by the decision of the competition founder

Stage 5

Awarding of the winners of the competition

  • the winners of the competition receive a diploma of the corresponding degree, a printed catalog with the works of the winners of the competition and the original prize by post
  • other participants of the competition receive an electronic certificate of participation, available for downloading and printing

Requirements for works

Works can be performed with any materials in various technique:
  • picture,
  • graphic arts,
  • weaving,
  • metal plastic,
  • embroidery,
  • sculpture
  • and etc.
The main requirement is that the work must have a material objectification.

Works are accepted in the form of digital copies (photos, scans and videos in high resolution).

Technical requirements for the provided files:

Photo:
  • file extension - JPG, PNG, TIFF, BMP,
  • the work should take 4/5 of the frame,
  • image resolution not less than DPI 300 × 300 pixels per inch,
  • image size not less than 5760 pixels on the long side,
  • pictures should be from different angles,
  • it is desirable to add photos in a scanned version.
Scanning:
  • file extension - JPG, PNG, TIFF, BMP,
  • the image must be cropped to fit the work,
  • image resolution must be at least DPI 300x300 pixels per inch,
  • file size not less than 5760 pixels on the long side,
  • be sure to add photos of the work from different angles
Video:
  • file resolution - MPG, MP4,
  • the work should occupy at least 4/5 of the frame,
  • video height at least 1080,
  • video compression (CBR, VBR) at least 10 Mbps,
  • 360° view is obligatory for volumetric works,
  • both horizontal and vertical video formats are allowed,
  • be sure to add photos of the work from different angles.
Files with works must be posted by the participant of the competition independently via the Internet and available for downloading.
